Dangerous Animals Ordinance

The City of Hazel Park amended its ordinance regarding Dangerous Animals in November of 2011. Owners must be responsible for their pets, protecting both human and animal life. Please see the attached Ordinance for details. If a complaint is received by the City of Hazel Park that there is an animal in violation of the ordinance, the matter will be investigated by a Code Enforcement Officer, and if a violation is discovered, the resident will be given a notice of violation. The resident will then have five days to provide the City with proof that they are not in violation of the ordinance, or the City reserves the right to remove and impound the animal in question.
