NEW GARBAGE, RECYCLING AND YARD WASTE COLLECTION SCHEDULESTARTING JULY 1, 2019

GFL will be collecting the City of Hazel Park’s Residential trash, recycling, and yard waste 5 days per week. Please check the map for your service day, which will be following the Street Maintenance schedule. Also, sometime near fall residential homes will be provided a free Trash Cart.

  • Please have all items out by 7:00am to ensure Pick Up.
  • Set Clean, acceptable recyclables in cart.
  • Large metal items should be placed near bin.
  • Residents can still set out small bins but can not weigh more than 60 pounds per bin.

Acceptable Curbside Items 

  • All papers - Newspapers, magazines, mail, paperback books, and paperboard boxes, phone books, shredded paper in a clear plastic bag
  • Empty food and beverage boxes, milk cartons, paper cups, drink and juice boxes
  • All plastic containers, empty and rinsed out.
  • Empty glass bottles and jars
  • Empty metal cans
  • Cardboard- Must be broken down and flattened to fit into cart.
  • Large Metal items - grills, bikes, lawn mowers, washers, dryers, file cabinets, shelving, water heaters. Please place next to recycling Cart. Please report any scavenging to the Police Department.

Replacement 65- Gal = $30.00
95-Gal Swap  = $20.00 Up-Charge 
A 95 Gallon can is recommended for larger amounts of recycling opposed to 2 or more 65 Gallon carts.

SOCRRA's Recycling Drop-Off Center is open 6 days a week and free to the public. Drop-Off Center is located at 995 Coolidge, Troy, MI (between 14 Mile and Maple).

This service is available ONLY to residents of our 12 SOCRRA communities as well as Bingham Farms, the City of Bloomfield Hills (not the Township) and Franklin Village. Residents of the City of Rochester and Rochester Hills may use this service after purchasing a voucher from their city office. Paper voucher must be presented at SOCRRA. Residency will be verified by attendant. 

Some materials require special handling for safe disposal and should not be placed in the trash.

SOCRRA's Paper Shredder is open 6 days a week and free to the public. Drop-Off Center is located at 995 Coolidge, Troy, MI (between 14 Mile and Maple).

Please only shred sensitive documents. Staples are okay. Please no paper clips and no plastic.

 


Presciption Drugs Recycling-

Starting November 3, 2016, Expired Prescriptions can be dropped off at the Police Department Lobby for proper disposal. No sharps please! The Police Department is located within the City Hall Building at 111 E Nine Mile Road.
