Fall is here!
Please DO NOT rake leaves into the street! We ask everyone to work together as a community to do their best to pick up their share of leaves in their yards and the streets.
Piles of leaves can provide a habitat for unwanted critters and kill your grass and plants. When leaves are raked or blown into piles on the curb, these piles spread out, creating a safety hazard for drivers and pedestrians. Leaf piles can also wash into storm drains, clogging storm sewers and causing flooding. After bagged leaves are picked up, they go to SOCRRA’s composting site. In the spring this compost is available to residents free of charge! All leaves must be put into paper leaf yard waste bags or trash cans labeled with a yard waste sticker. Containers are limited to 35 gallons, not to exceed 60 lbs. (Plastic bags are not acceptable). Also, Yard Waste pick-up is scheduled until the 2nd Monday in December. Yard Waste Stickers are available at City Hall, Monday - Thursday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm at the Treasurers counter, or at the DPW Office (24211 Couzens) Monday - Thursday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.
